Interstitial cystitis treatment

Posted by on Dec 8, 2010 in hormone allergy | Comments Off

My illness started two years ago when I believe I started into meonpause. I was 51 and my sympotms were urgency and frequency. The pain in my bladder started getting worse and became intolerable. Pain could be a 10. Been to many doctors and have had a hysterectomy that was precancer. I have been fighting an illness I believe is hormonal based/thyroid related. My diet is restricted to vegetables and meats. I drink purified water and chamomile tea. That is it. I still struggle with vaginal pain and thyroid symptoms and my body vibrates and hums especially at night. I am at my wits ends. I feel...

Eczema

Hi Dr. Roby I have a question. Do you think that since I’m allergic to molds and cheese is a mold I might be allergic to cheese, not dairy, just cheese? I haven’t eaten any cheese since I left for Michigan and my skin looks AMAZING!! Also, maybe something in Texas makes it worse?? I don’t know. But is that a possibility? Maggie ps. how did your knee surgery go? Splendid except for the fact that I didn’t really think about how they would do it. Two weeks of the most amazing pain because …he took a saw and sawed off my leg, top and bottom. Today is the first day I...

Interstitial Cystitis and Hormone Allergy

Posted by on May 27, 2010 in hormone allergy | Comments Off

Dear Dr. Roby, I called this morning to find out my lab results so I know if I need to continue taking the DHEA 5 mg, estrogen cream, and cortisol. I have seen some improvements with the therapy. The first thing I noticed after taking the vials I was more alert and I could see very clearly, I was no longer in a fog. The other thing I noticed was that my bladder flares with the Prog/Est 1 were less severe and I did not pass blood with my urine. I still had pelvic pain during ovulation and with my period but it was more manageable. When I started taking the Prog/Est 3 my bladder flared for 3...

IC Pain, Interstitial Cystitis Treatment

Posted by on May 20, 2010 in hormone allergy | Comments Off

Your Question: I have IC and notice an increase in pain level right before my period. I am interested in learning more about the possibility of hormonal imbalance being a problem. I am 49 and am starting to have symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Thank you for your consideration. Dear Patient: Symptoms of IC and pain that occur during the PMS part of the cycle reflect an allergic reaction to the hormone progesterone. Current terminology for this type problem is progesterone mediated hypersensitivity. We block that pain with the ProCALM drops. Try them. Three out of four users get nearly...

IC Filed under: hormone allergy — Russell Roby @ 7:54 am Edit This I began having IC symptoms when I was 5 months pregnant. Pressure, bloating, burning in my lower abdomen, lower back, vaginally, down my leg, etc. After 6 weeks the symptoms went away only to return once again one year later. After seeing several doctors including urologists, urogynocologists, regular allergists, etc… I was put on antibiotics and pain killers. Six months later I began physical therapy with one of the top pelvic floor therapists in the country. I was told due to stress and my history of allergies and asthma my...

IC, Interstitial Cystitis

location: CA Your Question: I am about to turn 40 and other than Interstitial Cystitis (diagnosed about 8 years ago) I am in good health. I take Elmiron. I would like to adopt this shelter kitty but am concerned about if my allergy to cats would make my IC worse? Thank you for your help. It is quite possible that you could safely adopt this cat. You would have to be vigilant in observing whether or not your allergy symptoms are getting worse in a consistent way. Unfortunately, if you have allergies to other things, it might be difficult to tell which substance is causing the exacerbation of...

Male IC, Interstitial Cystitis

Posted by on May 18, 2010 in hormone allergy | Comments Off

Your Question: I am a 44 year old male that was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis when I was 30 years old. Are your treatments for women only? Do you have success stories of treating males with IC? Dear QO: I have only treated half a dozen guys with IC, but we have been spectacularly successful. The drops dramatically reduced the symptoms and when we measured their hormones and got them back in balance the problems got completely resolved. They were all low in DHEA and free testosterone. We changed their diet (no stimulants, spices, acid foods, etc.,) and at least one hour a day, in the...

IC, Interstitial Cystitis

I must defend Dr. Roby ——————————————————————————– I must respond to Dette’s post on Dr. Roby. I feel that she must have called someone else, as what she was told was just not what Dr. Roby charges. First of all, let me say that my daughter was one of Dr. Roby’s very first IC patients. You all know the drill, she was in horrible pain most of the time, often bedridden from the pain. We went to 7-8 doctors of all kinds....
