Premenstrual Migraines and ProCALM Drops

Your Question: Hi Dr.Roby,
I’ve been reading through your site for maybe a year now and I’m sure that I have an allergy to progesterone. I get horrible premenstrual migraines that are pounding and settle into the left eye. I’ve gotten them since I was a teen. I also get sporadic itchy rashes premenstrually. The irritability makes it tough to be a good wife and mother to 4. I’ve taken Frova for the migraines, but now the cost is $200 for 9 pills since our insurance deductible has not been met. I really want to fix the problem, not just take pills for it. I called your office hoping to buy the drops to see if they would help, but they told me to get the lab tests done and make an appointment first. The lab test she recommended on Healthcheck USA does not mention the progesterone allergy test which is mainly what I want checked. Please advise. I dread another horrible migraine.

That sounds like hormone allergy to me. See my sections on “hormone imbalance” and “Interstitial cystitis” on my website at www.robyinstitute.com and see if they don’t cover your problem. Call me if you would like to discuss it. 800-842-6349.

YourQuestion: Hi,:

I believe I am a good candidate for your treatment, but not sure:
Headaches run in my family; I began getting frequent headaches at age 11 or 12 (really not sure)went thru menarche at age 12. Also had a fall on my head off a jungel gym around this time. At age 17 I began getting daily headaches. They have always been muscle tension, beginning in my neck. At this time, I was very active in sports and was also obsessed with my weight, was running 6 miles a day and lost my period due to wt loss. From this point on, I saw tons of docs, tons of tests, all normal, the only thing that helped a bit was being put on Armour Thyroid at age 18, which took my headaches away for a month. Other than that, I was put on all the prophylactic meds as well as narcotics, etc. Nothing worked, things just got worse and worse. I have never suffered premenstrually, however. They are randomn, tho I do know I have some food triggers, but they are not ususally migraine-like, just muscle tension, like the vice that goes around the head. My neck has always be
en involved, tho no amount of chiropractic or massage or acup has given me relief for more that a few hours. No longer on any meds except the occasional narc, for severe, and daily excedrin. I KNOW I am a stressed, high anxiety person. I have had 2 kids, with no change in headache with pregnancy or since. Tho I also have a recent history of IC and vulvodynia, which I somehow resolved on my/its own. I still tend to get irritable bladder. And my periods have gotten a bit more irratic in past 6 mo, shorter cycles, heavier, tho still short 3 days, very little PMS, not much cramping. BUT I have started getting breast tenderness from ovulation to menses, and feeling more tired with my periods. I am exhausted in the evening. I exercise 3-4 days a week, hi and low intensity. I do drink alcohol almost daily, but diet is good: alkaline, and low carb in general, mostly organic… etc. I am an acupuncturist. I don’t get treaments nearly enough and have 2 young kids and a 3day a week job. Thinking of testing saliva. Not sure where to go from there. should I purchase and try the Progesterone drops? is this the same you use for desensitizing? I work in an integrated clinic and we do NAET as well as bio-indent hormones. I can have the APN I work with help me if you could guide me.
Thanks alot! KT

Dear KT:

Try the drops. If they do not help send them back for a refund. If they do help, call me and I will direct you to the blood studies you need to determine the imbalance. I think you are reacting to your progesterone and your imbalance is an ever-diminishing amount of estrogen. The drops are not approved by the FDA.

Read my book.

Maybe It Is All In Your Head, by Dr. Roby

With all of the health books out on the market today, it is confusing to know what is the right thing to do for your body and your health. This book tops them all – not only does this book give you all of the information you need to be healthy and happy, but it also provides evidence of why it works. The personal accounts are moving and prove the recommendations in the chapters of the book. My husband and I both have had great success with Dr. Roby and are pleased to know that others can gain the same knowledge and understanding that we have been blessed with through this book. Do not waste any more time with terrible allergies or chronic pain. Take the time to read through the personal accounts, evidence and easy recommendations throughout the book and notice the significant difference it makes in your life. This book can change your life.

Interstitial Cystitis

IC Pain
I have had IC for seven years. I went to Mayo and Vanderbilt. When all the drugs failed I was offered surgical removal of my bladder. I am 24! Painful urination, horrendous pain on intercourse, my husband thinks I am a nut case. The pain is a constant 5 on a scale of ten and often goes to ten. Everything is worse the week before my period when I become the psychobitch from hell. I don’t want surgery! I don’t want antidepressants! I want my life back.

Help! A friend of mine took your drops and was better in minutes.
Can this work for me?

PC

Dear PC:

We see a lot of IC patients. It always involves hormones. Many ladies do well adding progesterone to their lives. Not patients whose symptoms increase premenstrually. Your symptoms are aggravated by progesterone. I think you have a hormone allergy or progesterone mediated hypersensitivity. We block this using the ProCALM drops that are placed under your tongue. If this is effective for you the relief comes within a minute or two. Using these daily can keep the symptoms in control. The drops are not approved by the FDA.

Call me at 800-842-6349 and I will be happy to discuss this with you.

Warm regards,

Dr. Roby

Eye Pain and Back Pain

I’m sorry you are having so many racquetball injuries. That has to be very painful.

I don’t mean to be pestering you when I email. I am very interested and intrigued by your genius and want to read papers and things you do. That’s why I ask about how you treat MS and if you had written anything on it.

You have helped me so very much with all my health issues over the years when absolutely no one else could. You have been the only doc who could figure out what’s going on. The eye apain and back pain go completely away as long as I use the ProCALM each morning. Sometimes I have to use it at night as well. I know virtually nothing about immunology and apparently few doctors do either.

I admire your brilliance and always learn so much from you. There are few people I totally trust with my health, in fact none except for you in actuality. I think you do really want to help people and not harm anyone in the process. I will always be a cheerleader for your practice meaning how you practice and how you think. It’s great to know someone as brilliant as you are.

I think that Mom having the ozone generator will greatly help her immune system like it seems to do mine. I want to stay on her and the sisters to make sure she gets it before anyone can change her mind. So that’s why I ask if there is sales tax on it. She needs to know that so she doesn’t run over her credit card limit. We want to order it ASAP.

Thank you for responding Dr. Roby. I hope your knee heals quickly. Seems like you will need to wear armor or some sort of protective body suit to keep playing racquetball now that the ball has it in for you.

Thanks for all you do…take care.

CH

There is no sales tax since I am prescribing it for.

Warm regards,

Dr. Roby

Mom sent those pills to you last Sat. The ones she needs the antigen vials for. She wants to buy the ozone machine too…

IC

Your Question: I am a 44 year old female. I have suffered from IC for three years. I was diagnosed via cystoscopy but refused to submit to the moronic “treatment” for this disorder (drugs). I have undergone about a year of NAET therapy and it has helped some but I am still suffering. Besides bladder and urethral burning and urinary frequency I suffer from fibromyalgia-like symptoms as well (headaches, body aches, feeling like I have the flu). Lately I have also been suffering from terrible hot flashes and sleep disturbances. If I use a tiny bit of progesterone the hot flashes subside but the bladder and urethral pain go through the roof. The pain always get worse right before my period. Last summer I had a terrible case of poison ivy (over half my body) and I refused to take steroids because I was afraid of side effects. During the six weeks that the rash was in progress my IC symptoms disappeared COMPLETELY. This event led me to believe that there is a significant immune system/allergy component to my IC. I have tried many things in addition to NAET: elimination diets, all kind of supplements, Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, pelvic physical therapy, the list goes on. Last year I had a blood test for hormone levels and my testosterone levels were rock bottom. I tried some testosterone supplementation but it didn’t seem to help at all. I feel like I am getting toward the end of my rope with this problem. I feel sometimes like I would be better off dead. I have read your website and a lot of what you are talking about seems to resonate with me. I am wondering how I might approach seeking treatment from you as I do not live close to Austin. Thanks!

Dear Ms. G.:

I have a lot (a couple of dozen) IC patients. All are improved. Some symptom-free. Call my office Monday and order some ProCALM 3. For women whose symptoms are worse just before their period this is usually the right strength. Call me and we can discuss your case. 512-338-4336.

ProCALM drops for Hormone Allergy

Your Question: I have been going to a fertility doctor for about four months. When my cycle starts I take clomid for five days. Then A few days later I take Prometrium. When I get a sonogram and the time is right they inject Orvidrel.I usually begin to get itchy and uncomfortable. They gave me a chest cat scan. I was released hours after. I was also given IV. That night I took Benadryl because the feeling came back plus my skin started developing a rash from my hips down. The next day I felt the shortness of breath again and went to an ER. They gave me a nebulizer treatment. Then sent me home with anxiety pills. I have seen a handful of doctors and still no resolution. My rash is still noticeable but not itchy or bothersome since I stopped the meds a few weeks ago. I spoke with two allergists who told me there is no way to test a medication for an allergic reaction. I believe it is from the progesterone. When I take that the symptoms seem to start up. The last doctor I saw mentioned the possibility of anaphylactic shock. I need to find out which of the prescriptions is causing this. I don’t want trying to have a baby become fatal. I have a two year old. I went through the same routine trying to conceive. I was lucky and became pregnant during the second month. I did have the itchiness back then but never any severe reactions. I looked over the Hormone therapy section. Can you help?

Dear Mrs. J:

I think you are most likely having an allergic reaction the progesterone. Look up autoimmune progesterone dermatitis on Google and see it discussed in my book Maybe It Is All In Your Head. I discuss this on the website. The medical term your doctor might be familiar with is progesterone mediated hypersensitivity. See the article on hormone imbalance and my paper on Hormone Allergy (AJRI, 2007). We also did a study on infertility. When my patients use the ProCALM drops there is a dramatic increase in fertility. The drops are most effective at blocking shortness of breath and itching due to an allergic reaction to progesterone.

You can call my office (800-842-6349) and purchase a bottle of the ProCALM drops for $50.00. When you get them call me and I will guide you through your initial test dose. If you are reacting to progesterone the drops will block the itch and any SOB within a minute or two. Call me if you would like to discuss it.

Dr. Roby

Your Question:

Hello:
In the last year I have been having symptoms like night sweats, anxiety and discomfort about 10 days before my period. I get bloating headaches and heavy periods on and off. I’m 42 years old very moody and this has been really affecting me. I explained to my gynecologist but he wanted to prescribe birth control pills. I don’t want to take birth control pills because of side effects. I finally went to my internal medicine Dr. and I asked to have tests done to check my hormones. I’m waiting for the results.

I explained to him that I will not take any synthetic medication. He did mention (a progesterone pill) but I will not take it because the side effects. So far I been using black cohosh and a progesterone cream and these are giving me some relief. But, I need stronger relief. Browsing on the internet I bumped on your website. I was pretty impressed. Do I need a prescription in order for me to get the progesterone sublingual drops? How do I go about it?

Thank you
LR

When you get those lab results ask the lab or the doctor to fax a copy to me and I will give you my opinion of the results. Our fax number is 512-343-8197. Your doctor quite likely will tell you all your hormone levels are “normal” or “within the normal limits”. However, the range of normal is HUGE. Estradiol, for instance, is normal from 6 to 400. You were over 300 when you were a teenager and now you will be under 20, the same level as a man (we range up to 56, mine is 80). Whatever your level now, it was a lot better 10 years ago.
