Fibromyalgia – What is it and how Dr. Roby can help

FIBROMYALGIA is one the most frustrating, and elusive, problems for conventional medicine today. Most physicians really want to help their patients, but they don’t know what to do about this one. We believe that FIBROYMALGIA is merely a symptom of hormone imbalance and not really a disease in and of itself.

As we get older, our hormones are quietly going through changes. Some time, usually around our 25th birthday, our sex hormones go into decline. This decline becomes much more noticeable in the late thirties and early forties. PAIN begins to be more in evidence; arthritis, headache, muscle pain, along with DIMINISHING SEX DRIVE, FATIGUE, SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS, SLEEP DISTURBANCES and unexplained WEIGHT GAIN.

Dr. Roby has been doing research and conducting studies on FIBROMAYALGIA for many years and can demonstrate that it is another symptom of hormone imbalance and/or hormone allergy. We have found that once the hormone imbalance is taken care of, most of the other symptoms are resolved as well. Dr. Roby uses only bioidentical hormone replacement therapy if your tests indicate that you need it. We also make antigens for the individual patient based on the results of their lab tests.

We also introduce a non-medical protocol as part of the complete treatment. This lifestyle change combined with Dr. Roby’s unique treatment of hormone imbalance often helps patients with FIBROMYALGIA return to living a pain free and healthy life.

Dr. Russell Roby Granted Patent for the treatment of Hormone Allergy

Patent issued for the treatment of pain and hormone-allergy symptoms

using dilute hormone solutions

Austin TX–March 25, 2007– Dr. Russell R. Roby, M.D. of Roby Institute was granted a patent by the United States Patent office for the treatment of hormone allergy and pain using dilutions of hormones (Unites States Patent 7,179,798). Dr. Roby’s patented treatment method calls for a hormone dilution to be administered sublingually, or, in the alternative, an intradermal route of administration may be chosen. The dilutions are safely administered to alleviate a patient’s symptoms either by a physician or by the patient themselves.

Dr. Roby has served as a pioneer in the fields of hormone allergy and hormone therapy treatment and is continually treating patients from all over the world. Through years of trials, tests, research and results, Dr. Roby has found that the human body may in fact develop an actual allergy to its own hormones. These allergies often result in hormone imbalance, weight gain, fatigue, pain (fibromyalgia, arthritis, interstitial cystitis), asthma, and other symptoms that greatly diminish an individual’s quality of life. Dr. Roby’s use of sublingual dilutions of hormone solutions to neutralize and treat these symptoms has resulted in countless individuals living pain-free for the first time in years. Relief occurs within seconds of the administration of the proper dilution using Dr. Roby’s methods. The sublingual dilutions may be self-administered at home, reducing the need for visits to the doctor’s office. The dilutions are tailored to the patient’s individual needs and monitored regularly to help the patient achieve optimal health.

Dr. Roby currently has numerous additional patents pending and his book, Maybe It IS All In Your Head, will be published in the summer of 2007. This book deals with his work on Hormone Allergy and the success he is having in treating people with pain, suffering and what he believes are “phantom” symptoms from their allergic reactions.

Weight Loss?

Hello, I went to Jenny Craig for 3 years and lost 33 pounds. Then, I started strength training with a personal trainer for 8 months. It was difficult and made me very tired and grouchy. I stopped Jenny Craig and strength training in March of last year. I gained all of the weight back and then some. I started Curves in November and now I am experiencing arthritic pain in my joints and my muscles are extremely sore. I never took hormone replacement drugs and did fine through menopause. Do you think you can help with my weight problems?

Dr. Roby: It is often very difficult to lose weight and then to keep it off. We encounter this problem regularly at Roby Institute. The main causes we see in our patients are hormone imbalance and/or allergy. A person can be allergic to and have an allergic reaction to almost anything without any prior warning. Furthermore, many patients do not often realize that their hormones are directly related to the other systems in their bodies and any imbalance can lead to a number of unforeseen symptoms – including weight gain.

Out of the Country?

Dear Dr. Roby, I’ve had symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis for the past nine months and my life is fast becoming very terrible. Your article on Interstitial Cystitis and hormone imbalance was very informative. You mentioned about Progesterone drops, and a protocol for treatment. If I am unable to make a trip to Roby Institute, is there any way my local doctor here in Hong Kong can treat me?

Dr. Roby: Unfortunately, there is no one in Hong Kong or the rest of Asia who can currently treat you with our methods. However, we invite all physicians to share the results of this research so they may learn to use this protocol with their patients.

Please have your own physician contact me by email: roby@drroby.com and I will be happy to give him or her all of the necessary information.

We have patients visit our Austin, San Antonio, and Marble Falls offices from all over the world. Similarly, we are always hoping to find physicians in other areas who are interested in learning the Roby methodology so that we can refer the patients who either cannot travel this far to local doctors.

This protocol works exceedingly well for most patients. Just as important, the protocol also returns control of your treatment and progress of your situation back to you.

An Explanation of What’s Happening with your Hormones

An article posted Here outlines the affects of overstimulated adrenal glands and how a hormone imbalance creates this over-stimulation. If the symptoms and changes outlined below fit you, please contact us here at the Roby Institute.

We hear about stress and experience stress every day of our lives. But, do we really know how bad it is, how it really impacts our overall health?

Every challenge to the mind and body creates a demand on the adrenals. The result is adrenal glands that are constantly on high alert. The adrenal glands are walnut-sized glands located on top of each kidney, and are important control centers for many of the body’s hormones. The outer layer of the gland produces cortisol, DHEA, estrogen and testosterone. The center of the glands produce adrenaline. The symptoms of adrenals that are overburdened are fatigue, insomnia, weight gain and depression. If those symptoms are left untreated,it can suppress the immune system, impact muscle and bone loss, cause skin problems and autoimmune disorders.

Cortisol helps us meet our everyday challenges by converting proteins into energy. It does this by releasing glycogen and counteracting inflammation. In the short run that’s fine, but an overproduction of cortisol will gradually tear down your body.

When the adrenals are chronically overworked and straining to maintain high cortisol levels. they lose the capacity to produce DHEA in sufficient amounts. Since DHEA is a precursor hormone to estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, that’s not good. You can experience fatigue, bone loss, decreased muscle mass, depression, aching joints, low sex drive, and impaired immune function. So you see, excessive stress is counterproductive in managing our menopausal systems and is just plain bad for our health overall.

So what can you do if you feel adrenal fatigue? Unfortunately, this gets a little dicey. Many physicians focus on treating symptoms with medication and might not dig deep enough to get to the underlying cause. Like a lot of other diagnostic tests we take, cortisol levels that fall into a very broad range might be considered normal.

If you worry that you are experiencing these changes in hormones or hormone imbalance, please contact us for a consultation.

Early Menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy

We see patients every day that are experiencing symptoms that resemble the symptoms associated with menopause. The baffling part is that many of these patients aren’t much older then 40 years old. Some are as young as 19. To see a person who should be in better health experiencing symptoms that traditionally shouldn’t occur for a few decades can appear confusing at first glance. Many of them are treated by traditional medicine with sleeping pills and anti-depressants. We believe in putting the body’s hormone levels back in balance.

Through years of research and thousands of patients, we are able to find that these symptoms can be treated easily, effectively, and naturally using Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy. Do these symptoms affect you? Is your body’s hormone imbalance causing you to age faster then you should? If so, we encourage you to visit our website or call our offices for a free consultation.

Below you will find an excerpt from an article printed in full Here. Perhaps you will find this young lady’s story to mirror your own…

I want to start by saying that that women across the country need to hear this. I’ve never felt so passionate about anything in my entire life and because I am a success story I hope that I can influence many in my advocacy for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

It started six years ago in January 2001. I was in my last six months of finishing my bachelor’s degree and suddenly some symptoms started reappearing that were all too familiar to me. My fibroid tumors
returned. I knew because of the clotting and sudden bursts of blood during my period. I had this problem 2-3 years prior and thought it was taken care of with a hysteroscopy. Unfortunately they came back with a vengeance and I had 4 large tumors this time.

My gynecologists at the time gave me two options. He said he could remove them with no guarantees that they wouldn’t return or a hysterectomy leaving in my ovaries. It was a difficult decision because I needed to decide if I ever wanted children. I was 38, never really seeing myself as a mother, but I needed to decide if it was something I was passionate about. Because I wasn’t in a relationship at the time and not knowing whether I would ever meet the right person, it left me with the decision to take care of my health first.

I thought prior to the surgery my doctor gave me all the information I needed to prepare myself. However there was one thing he missed and that was the risk of going into early menopause. The surgery went well and I was getting on with my life with no worries. I finished school and bought my first home. Life was great!

A couple of years passed and I started to experience some menopausal symptoms during my nights. I first noticed that after I went out and had a few drinks with friends, that I couldn’t sleep at night. Then hot flashes, night sweats and insomnia also started to set in. I only had symptoms in the evenings never during the day. I was talking to my mother on the phone one day and she said I should go see my doctor; I was experiencing menopausal symptoms.
